Preview: International CES 2015 and Dell

The Dell Venue 8 7000 Series Android™ TabletFor more than 40 years, the International CES has been the world’s gathering place for everyone who thrives on the business of consumer technologies.

The industry’s business leaders, pioneering thinkers and fans of all sorts of electronic geekery look forward to starting each new year at this massive event.

That includes us at Dell.

Some of the things we’ll be showcasing this week in Las Vegas aren’t big secrets. Our Venue 8 7000 Series tablet has been noted as “a technology tour de force” and is a 2015 CES Innovation Award Best of Innovation Honoree.

But, that’s not all we’ve got planned to kick off 2015!

All I can tell you now is that our portfolio of award-winning devices will be expanding, and that additional Dell products are 2015 CES Innovation Award Honorees.

You can watch it unfold via social media as we post on Instagram, Facebook, Google+ and LinkedIn.

I’ll also be live tweeting from @Dell and posting more updates here on Direct2Dell. I’m flying out today to ensure there’s not a repeat of my 2008 CES trip when flight delays almost made me miss our Dell mixed reality event.

If you’re heading to Vegas, too, be sure to stop by our Dell Lounge, open from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. PT, January 6 and 7 inside the Venetian Palazzo, adjacent to the Blue Man Rock of Ages Theatre on Restaurant Row. There you can experience “The Book of Life” — the Day of the Dead-themed movie produced by Guillermo del Toro and developed and produced by Reel FX — in an entirely new, immersive way, via the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.

And while we all wait for other cool things coming, here’s a little sneak peek:
