What is a graphics card?
Your computer uses a graphics card to display images on your screen. More powerful graphics cards can render higher resolution images faster.
There are two types of graphics cards:
- Integrated graphics cards share memory with your processor. They use less power and create less heat and fan noise. In laptops, this gives you longer battery runtime.
- Discrete graphics cards include their own dedicated graphics processing unit (GPU) and memory. As a result, they deliver better performance.
Which graphics card is right for you?
