Refined bokeh and broad versatility

Striking bokeh, a characteristic of the G Master series, can really make portrait and other subjects stand out. XA elements that effectively suppress onion ring bokeh, an 11-blade circular aperture mechanism, and painstaking spherical aberration control at the design and manufacturing stages add up to smooth, beautiful bokeh.

Versatile close-up capability

XA lens elements and innovative optical design achieve a minimum focusing distance of just 0.89 ft (27 cm) and maximum magnification of 0.23x, making it possible to shoot impressive close-ups with smooth, creamy background bokeh. The flexibility to choose your shooting distance affords plenty of control for stills as well as movies.

Clean, natural color

This compact lens is not only mobile and manageable, but performs admirably in difficult lighting as well. An ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element and other optical refinements effectively suppress chromatic aberration and purple fringing for clean, natural-looking images and fast, easy post-shoot editing.

As an avid hiker, this is a wonderful lens.

Redliner, New Hampshire, USA: As an avid hiker in the northeast part of the United States (NH and ME), I consider this an ideal lens. With the twist of the aperture ring I can either capture what I see in front of me on the trail, or isolate something that has caught my eye, both of which will have incredible sharpness, wonderful bokeh, or both. Additionally, the inherent sharpness of this lens allows me, via cropping, to capture details of distant peaks. Continue Reading...
