Promotional gift card FAQs (physical and eGift cards)

The Dell Promotional Gift Card (“Promo Card”) is not a credit card; it is a preloaded gift card that has a set dollar value printed on the carrier to which the Promo Card is affixed, or, if the Promo Card is delivered electronically, in the e-mail with which the card is sent (the “ePromo Gift Card Notification”). It can be used to purchase merchandise and services from Dell on our website or by phone as indicated on the materials accompanying the Promo Card. Promo Cards cannot be used at third party retail locations, to make Dell Preferred Account, Dell Business Credit, Dell Account, or Dell Lease payments, to purchase other Dell gift cards, or to purchase non-Dell branded smartphones or mobile accessories, which are sold through third party partners. Large Enterprise, Federal and Public orders are excluded from Promotional Gift Card offers. Further, Promo Cards cannot be redeemed for cash, except where required by applicable law. Upon redemption, the purchase amount will be automatically deducted from the value of the Promo Card. When the amount available on the Promo Card has been exhausted, any future transactions will be declined. If the purchase amount is greater than the remaining Promo Card balance you will be given an option to add an additional form of payment. Please read the question below on "combining forms of payment" to make a purchase that exceeds the funds available on the Promo Card.
No, the Promo Card is a preloaded gift card that has a set dollar value. Depending on the method of delivery, the card value will either be printed on the carrier to which the Promo Card is affixed or in the ePromo Gift Card Notification. The Promo Card is not a credit card and cannot be used as one.

Yes. Promo Gift Cards expire 90 days from issuance. Please use your Promo Card promptly. Expiration information for your Promo Card can be found in the carrier to which the Promo Card was affixed, or, if delivered electronically, on the ePromo Gift Card Notification. After the expiration date, the Promo Cards will not be accepted, subject to applicable law. Please call 1-800-242-5353, hours: Monday – Friday, 9AM to 6PM CT only for balance and expiration information or please visit our eGift Card Self Service tool, here. Our Self Service tool allows you to track a Prepaid or Promo eGift Card, resend an eGift Card, view or print a receipt, check card balance, confirm expiration date, and chat with a support representative.
Promo Cards cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
No. Once the value of the Promo Card has been depleted, the Promo Card is no longer valid. However, we recommend that you retain your Promo Card at least until you are sure that you do not intend to return any purchased merchandise.

Promo Gift Cards typically arrive 10-20 days post ship/invoice date. If after this time, you still haven’t received your Promo Gift Card, please call 1-800-624-9897 hours: Monday – Friday, 9AM to 6PM CT only. If you return the product that qualified you for the Promo Gift Card after receiving your Promo Card, your Promo Card will be deactivated, or, if the Promo Card has already been redeemed, the value of the redeemed portion of your Promo Card will be subtracted from your refund.

No. Promo Cards may only be used to purchase merchandise and services from Dell. The Promo Card cannot be used to withdraw cash.
To use your Promo Card for a purchase that is greater than the amount on the Promo Card, you may pay the remaining amount of your purchase with any credit card accepted by Dell. For online purchases, you will be prompted you to provide a credit card to cover the remaining balance. Except for such credit cards, Promo Cards may not be used in combination with any other form of payment including, without limitation, Dell Preferred Accounts, Dell Business Credit, Dell Account or Dell Lease.
Dell can only accept a limited number of Promo Card(s) per purchase. Multiple Dell Prepaid Gift Cards (Cards that do not expire) can be consolidated into a single card by calling 1-800-624-9897, hours: Monday – Friday, 9AM to 6PM CT only. Please note that Dell Promo Cards (Promo Cards that expire and / or were given for free, as part of a promotion or otherwise) may not be merged with any other Promo Cards or Dell Gift Cards of any kind. The Promo Card will be declined if there are insufficient funds remaining on your Promo Card to cover the amount of your purchase. It is important to keep track of your available funds to ensure that you do not exceed the Promo Card's value. We value our relationship with you and want to make sure that you're satisfied with purchases made using your Promo Card. Returns of merchandise will be processed according to Dell's return policies. Credits for returns accepted by Dell will be allocated back to the Promo Card (in the amount of the portion of the returned purchase paid via Promo Card) as long as the Promo Card has not expired. However, if the card has expired, no credit or cash refund will be issued and remaining funds on the card are forfeited.If you receive a credit, the portion paid with your Promo Card (excluding shipping & handling) will be allocated back to the Promo Card within 3 to 7 business days after Dell receives and processes your returned merchandise.
