Submit your profile

In order to be considered for a position at Dell, you must submit a complete candidate profile. But don't worry — we've made it easy. If you are new to the system, you'll need to create a personal account, which is protected by a username and password.

Remember this information

You'll need it each time you apply for a job or submit/update your profile. Before starting the profile process, ensure you have an updated copy of your resume/curriculum vitae (CV) with you so you can provide all the information requested.

It helps our recruiters track progress and make contact with you, and it streamlines the process on your end, too.

Each time you apply, the profile form automatically incorporates existing information from your profile

You'll have more relevant search returns targeted to your profile information, such as years of experience, job title(s), educational background, geographic area and so on.

Recruiters can better match your qualifications with present and future job opportunities

We encourage all candidates to login and update their profiles. Did you recently earn a new certification? Change locations? Update your contact information? And you can choose to receive notifications of available openings that match your profile.

Apply for a job

When you find a job that interests you, click the "Apply Now" button on the description page. You'll be prompted to enter your username and password; and if you haven't yet submitted a profile, you'll have to complete that process first. We will ask you to complete some basic details about yourself and to answer some questions specifically related to the job you are applying for. Good luck!

Returning candidates

As a returning candidate, you can access your account with your username and password. You can view or update your profile information at any time. Simply sign in as a returning user.

Users can edit their contact information at any time after applying for a role. It's a simple 3-step process:

  1. Sign in to your account in the upper right corner.
  2. Click "Update Contact Information" on the right side of the page.
  3. Make your changes and don’t forget to click “OK” after you've finished.

Tips for your resume/CV applying-for-a-job-2

Writing a compelling and engaging resume/CV is an art in its own right. And it can be quite a challenge. But don’t sweat it — we’re here to help. We’ve provided some tips and tricks that explain what makes a good resume great and what exactly Dell recruiters are looking for.

Describe your strengths and expertise and support them

Connect your qualities and strengths with real-life work experiences and include specific examples.

List achievements as opposed to responsibilities

Rather than providing a long list of responsibilities, focus your resume on what you have achieved in past roles, including money or time saved, processes improved, revenue generated and so on.

Include an objective

A concise and meaningful statement describing your career goals is very helpful to the reviewer.

Use effective titles

Employers will most likely form an opinion about your resume in a few seconds. Use this time to grab the attention of your employer. Think of using an effective title that compels employers to keep reading. It’s recommended to be as descriptive as possible to give the employers a good idea about the nature of your past work experience.

  • Bad title: Computer Programmer
  • Good title: Senior Programmer — Java/J2EE


Be active; inspire engagement

Action verbs engage your reader. They’re dynamic and clearly communicate your experiences and achievements. Examples include: coached, created, managed, developed, implemented, designed and so on.

Share your volunteer experience

Demonstrating how you spend time outside of work reveals a lot about who you are. Companies, especially Dell, are interested in this!

Proofread it...twice

Then, ask a trusted friend or colleague to review. They may find mistakes you missed.

Keep it brief, but one page is not necessary

The shorter, the better. However, some people may need more than one page — particularly those with many years of experience.

Make sure it is up to date

This includes making sure your contact information is current. Keeping up with your resume on a regular basis ensures that all information is relevant.

Find focus and flow

Make sure your resume has a unified message about who you are and what you’ve experienced. Use your objective to tell your career story, and think of other content — work history, education, qualifications and so on — as important chapters in that story.

Be honest

Your resume is a "living document" that will be edited and updated throughout the course of your entire career. Think about what you write and include, as it can reflect on your character if the information is inaccurate.
