Dell named a ‘rising star’ by Global Technology Distribution Council
Distribution industry honors Dell for outstanding sales growth in the EMEA region
Dell, today announced that it has received a GOLD EMEA Rising Star award from the Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC). The Rising Star Awards recognize technology companies with exceptional sales growth through European distributors over the past year. This year’s awards were presented during an evening dinner event last night at the 2016 GTDC Summit EMEA conference at the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin.
Dell was among only 15 overall winners chosen from hundreds of manufacturers and publishers who rely on distributors to meet the product and service requirements of technology solution providers in the EMEA region. Gold, Silver and Bronze Rising Star Award winners were selected in four revenue categories and overall software business, respectively, with each category winner based on sales growth over the past year, as tracked by the CONTEXT SalesWatch Distribution Panel.
“We are thrilled to be recognized for the Rising Star award for the second year in a row”, says Michael Collins, vice president, Strategy and Channel, Dell EMEA. “Distribution plays a key role in our business strategy. Not only does it provide us with access to more of the market through the many available resellers, it has also been the fastest growing part of our business over the last 12 months. This accolade positions us as the strongest growth vendor, in the largest revenue category and highlights our ongoing commitment to our distributors and channel partners.
“With our T2 loyalty program for resellers we aim not only to make it easier and more rewarding to work with Dell, but to further accelerate this growth both now and in the future.”
Rising Star Awards Methodology
“This year’s winners span a broad range of product categories – our most diverse yet -- representing today’s most progressive and innovative market segments,” commented Tim Curran, GTDC CEO. “It’s impressive to see so many winners focused on the hottest trends, from cloud, mobility and Big Data to security, virtualization and hyper-converged infrastructure, for example. The growth of these companies showcases the value and impact of distribution partnerships throughout the EMEA region.”
