Acquisition Overview
Dell has successfully completed the acquisition of SonicWALL, Inc., a leader in advanced network security, secure remote access, and data protection. SonicWALL’s industry-leading Next-Generation Firewalls and Unified Threat Management (UTM) Firewalls complement Dell’s security solutions portfolio, enabling it to offer customers a broader range of enterprise offerings.

Why SonicWALL?
Dell has taken significant steps to expand its enterprise solutions portfolio to offer customers a complete range of products and solutions to help customers simplify the management of their IT infrastructure. SonicWALL expands Dell’s rapidly growing security portfolio, which includes Dell SecureWorks security services, cloud security solutions and data encryption solutions, and Dell KACE vulnerability and patch management.

Customer and Partner Benefits
Dell SonicWALL solutions are available for small and mid-sized business customers through large enterprise customers. They are deployed in large campus environments, distributed enterprise settings, government, retail point-of-sale and healthcare segments. Due to the constantly evolving landscape of threats, organizations need to deploy more comprehensive, dynamic security solutions. Dell SonicWALL’s dynamic network security and data protection enable Dell to offer comprehensive Next-Generation Firewall and Unified Threat Management solutions. In addition, Dell SonicWALL also provides Secure Remote Access, Email Security, Backup and Recovery, and Management and Reporting to organizations of all sizes. Its Global Management System allows network administrators to centrally manage and provision thousands of security appliances across a widely distributed network.

With the acquisition of SonicWALL complete, Dell’s Award winning Partner Direct Program is now even stronger with the inclusion of SonicWALL. The integration of the SonicWALL Medallion Partner Program into Dell’s PartnerDirect Program will provide partners with competitive pricing, protection for their investment in sales activities and an enhanced networking and security solutions portfolio providing more choice and value for partners and their customers. New partners can choose to either enroll in Dell SonicWALL’s Medallion Partner Program and participate until the closure of the Program at some point in the near future; or register for the enhanced Dell PartnerDirect Program which now officially includes Dell SonicWALL.

"Western NRG views Dell's acquisition as perhaps the biggest compliment SonicWALL could ever get. With the recent success and unveiling of the SuperMassive product, SonicWALL is making a big splash in the enterprise space and we think Dell was very quick to both recognize and capitalize on it. They acquired SonicWALL for three good reasons: SonicWALL's people, technology and its revenue stream. These have a huge value today and will have an even greater value in the future. We look for Dell to catapult both SonicWALL and the Channel to levels we've only previously imagined."

"To guarantee a superior student experience, we constantly need to securely enable new business initiatives, simplify and reduce the complexity in our network. SonicWALL's network security solutions give us the performance and visibility to make better informed business decisions. They help us make security a business enabler, not a business barrier and are a great match for a wide range of security requirements. We believe that Dell's acquisition of SonicWALL will continue and expand on its tradition of comprehensive industry-leading security solutions."
Greg Brenner, CIO,

"The acquisition of SonicWALL gives Dell immediate access to network security and secure remote access solutions that align well with Dell’s strategic objectives in both the SMB and enterprise markets. This will allow Dell to significantly expand its concept of secure networking and offering its customers solutions to cover a broad range of deployment scenarios. We expect SonicWALL's mature technology and their unique channel partner ecosystem to integrate very well with Dell's software and networking vision, while SonicWALL’s investment in enterprise technology may well become a disruptor in that market."
