The MIT Media Lab has embarked on a new expedition that reimagines humanity’s return to the Moon and, as a member of the MIT community, Dell Technologies is taking part. On February 27 of this year, MIT launched its first lunar landing mission since the Apollo era, sending three payloads — the AstroAnt, the RESOURCE 3D camera, and the HUMANS nanowafer — to the moon’s south polar region. MIT's base was Luna, a mission control space designed by MIT Department of Architecture students and faculty in collaboration with the MIT Space Exploration Initiative. The installation, which featured Dell AI PCs and other hardware, allows visitors to observe payload operators at work and interact with the software used for the mission, thanks to AI and real-time 3d data visualization.
