The CTD (Colour Toner Density) is a Light Sensor either on the Transfer Belt Assembly or on the Printer facing the Transfer Belt.

The sensor is found in a different place depending on the Printer Model. Further information can be found in your printer's User Guide.

1. Remove the Paper Tray from the Printer.

2. Open the Front Cover by pressing the button on the Right side of the printer.

3. Swing the Transfer Belt open.



4. Clean the CTD sensor inside the printer with a clean dry cotton swab.



5. Close the Transfer Belt and the Front Cover.

1. Turn off the Printer.

2. Push the rear cover handle to open Rear Cover.



3. Clean the CTD sensor inside the printer with a clean dry cotton swab.



4. Close the Rear Cover.

The CTD (Colour Toner Density) is a Light Sensor either on the Transfer Belt Assembly or on the Printer facing the Transfer Belt.

1. Press the button on the right side to open the Front Cover.

2. The CTD or ADC Sensor is found at the top of the Transfer Belt on the back of the Front Cover.






3. Clean the CTD sensor inside the printer with a clean dry cotton swab.

4. Close the Front Cover and Restart the Printer.

Cleaning the CTD sensor on your 5130CDN Dell Colour Laser Printer.

1. Turn off the printer.

2. Raise the latch of the right hand cover and open the cover.

NOTE: Belt unit can be replaced only when the right hand cover is open.

3. Open the front cover.

4. Rotate the lock levers of the inner cover to open it.



5. Grasp the handle on the front of the belt unit and pull out the belt unit until the line on the unit becomes completely visible.



6. Grasp the handles on the top of the belt unit. Pull out the unit to remove it from the printer.



7. With the Transfer Belt removed, slide the blue tab back and forth several times to clean the Sensor.



8. Replace the Transfer Belt and close both Front and Right Covers.

Cleaning the CTD sensor on your C3760/C3765 Dell Colour Laser Printer.

1. Open the Right Side Cover and the Back Cover.

2. Turn the waste toner box lock lever 90-degrees counterclockwise to unlock the waste toner box.



2. Grasp the handle on the waste toner box and pull it out making sure to hold it upright so that the waste toner does not spill out.



3. Stand the removed waste toner box upright on a level surface. Never lay the waste toner box on its side as this may cause its malfunction or toner spills.

4. Open the top cover.



5. Put your fingers through the loops on both sides of the transfer belt unit, and then pull it out.



6. Clean the CTD sensor with a clean, dry cotton swab.
