Cause

NOTE: In Compliance with Department Of Transportation (DOT) regulations, APC Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) are shipped with the battery disconnected. The unit will not operate until the battery is connected.

Resolution

Connect the Battery in the New APC UPS

If you receive a APC UPS which does not function, please make sure the battery is connected. Perform the following steps:

  1. Open the battery compartment

  2. Pull the battery out half way

  3. Connect the Red Battery Wire to the + Positive battery terminal

  4. Push the battery into the compartment and re-install the cover
