Why am I unable to access devices attached to my QLogic HBA when my primary path has a failure and the system has been rebooted?

QLDirect will not find devices on the failover path if no devices are detected on the primary controller during boot.

QLDirect is a runtime failover driver, not a boot time driver. QLDirect loads after the disk driver has already loaded and the scan on the bus has occurred. If the primary controller is offline, either by failure or if the cable has been pulled, the controller will not be able to find any drives.

NOTE:If the primary path is unavailable due to a failed HBA, the failover path can be designated as the primary path within QLCONFIG.
