Why Can´t I Install a Printer on the Kensington Portable Universal Docking Station? - KB Article - 173465

Reconnect the Printer to the Kensington Docking Station

To allow proper installation, connect the printer to the docking station before docking the computer. Follow the instructions below to remove the printer and computer from the dock, and reconnect them in the correct order.

  1. Click the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray, and click Remove the Asix AX88172 USB 2 to fast ethernet adapter.

  2. Physically disconnect the docking station from the USB port on the computer.

  3. If necessary, disconnect the printer from the parallel port.

  4. Reconnect the printer to the parallel port on the docking station.

  5. Reconnect the docking station to the USB port on the computer.

  6. The printer should now install properly.
