How Do I Install the Ricoh CardBus Controller?

Install the Drivers and Utilities CD

If the Drivers and Utilities CD has already been installed, go directly to the Extract the Driver section.
  1. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD into the CD drive.

  2. If the CD does not start on its own, click Start, then click Run. In the Open box type x:\autorcd, where x is the drive letter for your CD-ROM drive, click OK.

  3. In the Resource CD Installation window, click OK.

  4. In the InstallShield Wizard window, click Next.

  5. After the program is installed, click Finish and reboot your computer when prompted to do so.

Install the Ricoh CardBus Controller

  1. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD in the CD drive.

  2. Click the Next button when the Welcome Dell System Owner message appears.

  3. In the Search Criteria menu , click to select Inspiron 300m from the System Model menu.

  4. Click to select Windows XP from the Operating System menu.

  5. Click to select Drivers from the Topic menu.

  6. In the list of Inspiron 300m Windows XP drivers, click to select Ricoh R5C591 located under Chip Set Drivers.

  7. Scroll down, and then click the Extract button.

  8. In the Chip Set:Ricoh R5C591 Driver window, click the Continue button.

  9. Click the OK button when the Select the folder where you want to unzip the files to message appears.

    If a message appears asking to overwrite the folder, click the Yes to All button.
  1. Click the Yes button to create a folder.

  2. At the All files were successfully unzipped message, click the OK button.

  3. In the RICOH Media Driver - InstallShield Wizard window, click the Next button.

  4. Click the Install button.

  5. Click the Finish button when the InstallShield Wizard Complete message appears.

The Ricoh CardBus Controller driver is now properly installed.
