When users attempt to attach to the Dell™ 1600n printer using the Netscan feature, the error message "The server has exceeded the maximum number of users" appears.

Error using net scan on the Dell™ 1600n printer.

A user attempting to connect to a 1600n printer as a net scan user may see the following error:

The server has exceeded the maximum number of users.

The printer can only support a maximum of 32 users at one time.

Remove device from Network Scan Manager on the 1600n.

To remove device from Network Scan Manager, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Dell, point to Dell Printers, point to Dell Laser MFP 1600n, and click Network Scan.
    The Network Scan Manager window appears.
  2. Click to select the icon for the Dell Laser MFP 1600n.
    The icon is highlighted.
  3. Click Remove Device.
    The Dell Network Scan window appears.
  4. Click Yes to remove the device.

Clear the Memory in Tech Mode

  1. Press the MENU button, press the # button, and then enter 1934 on the keypad. The LCD displays TECH.

    Press in this button sequence in 5 seconds or less or it will not work.
  2. Press the MENU button. The LCD displays Data Setup.
  3. Press the SELECT button. The LCD displays Send Level.
  4. Press the button until Clear All Mem. appears and then press the SELECT button. The LCD displays Select Country.
  5. Press the button until the appropriate country appears and then press the SELECT button. The LCD displays Clearing All Memory...
