defect on the
Preview a scan
Place the self-test page face down on the scanner bed.
Click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Dell, point to Dell Printers, point to your printer, and then click Dell ScanCenter.
Click the Microsoft Paint button.
Click the Scan button.
Inspect the preview.
The scan preview looks normal: Contact the third-party software manufacturer for further support.
The scan preview is blank or abnormal:
Uninstall and Reinstall PaperPort 11.
If you already have a PaperPort installed, uninstall the older version, disable any antivirus software and reboot.
Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD (the CD that came with the printer) and install PaperPort 11.

Print a color test page.
When the printer is Ready (Copy, Scan, Fax appears in the LCD), press the Up or Down arrow button to scroll to SETUP, then press the Select button.
Press the Down arrow button to scroll to Reports, then press the Select button.
Press the Right or Left arrow button until Color Test Page is indicated, then press the Select button to print the page.
