Question


When using the iDRAC web interface to issue a graceful shutdown request from IE8, XenServer will not respond. This is has only been documented with iDRAC 6, IE8, and XenServer. Other remote access controllers and versions, browsers and versions, or host operating systems and versions may or may not be affected.

Solution


Dell Engineering is aware of the issue. The currently recommended workaround is to shut down the host from the Shutdown menu in the XenServer console or the XenCenter management GUI.
