Password Manager Error "Cannot access Password Manager from elevated process" in Dell Data Protection Security Tools

This article provides information how to resolve Password Manager Error: Cannot access Password Manager from elevated process.

In Dell Data Protection | Security Tools and attempting to manage Password Manager, an error "Cannot access Password Manager data from elevated process" is received.

This error will appear if the user has local administrator permissions or UAC is set to off.

To resolve this issue:

  • Remove local administrative rights

  • Turn on UAC
