Streak 10 Pro May Not Be Able To Use Quickofice with USB Storage Devices

Problem:
Streak 10 Pro users may encounter difficulties using Quickoffice to access USB storage devices that are attached with the optional dongle.

Discussion:
Streak 10 Pro MR2 (v5.68) software enables external USB functionality using the optional dongle. However, the Quickoffice application does not support USB storeage due to a limitation in the architecture of the software. Quickoffice is only able to access files stored in the device's onboard memory.

Solution:
This problem is not caused by any Dell hardware or software. Replacing the device will not solve this issue. Dell engineering is aware of this limitation and has advised Quickoffice. The issue is a result of an architectural limitation in the design of Quickoffice and is not expected to be changed. Customers can work around this issue by using a PC and the optional micro-USB cable to copy needed files into the Streak 10 Pro's internal memory. It is also possible to download and install third party application such as ES File Manager or File Expert as these can read or write to files on a USB storage device.
