Alienware Systems - Graphics distortion after Windows 10 Creators Fall Update


Alienware Arena Description Distorted screen issues after Creators Update, causing corruption even after doing Factory Image Restore on certain machines with HDMI displays. Issue is not seen in remote assistance but on customer screen is distorted.

  1. Right-click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.

  2. Expand the Display and then highlight the Change resolution.

  3. On the right side, select 8 bpc from the drop-down menu of Output color depth.


  1. Restart the PC.
  2. Update the NVidia Video Card driver with version 388.31 or later from www.nvidia.com.

Important:

  • Do not replace any hardware
  • Update the NVidia Video Card driver to version 388.31 or later.
  • There is no need to reinstall the Operating System.
