Compatibility Server service fails to start.

Affected Versions:

7.3, 7.5, 7.7, 7.7.2, 8.0, 8.1, 8.3, 8.3.1


Compatibility Server service fails to start and the following error is displayed in the output.log during the previous attempt to start the service:

2016-06-03 06:22:52,920 ERROR Main [WrapperListener_start_runner] - Error migrating commands from document store
com.orientechnologies.common.io.OIOException: Cannot connect to any configured remote nodes: TESTSERVER3.dpenny.com:2424

This is stating that we are not able to properly communicate with the Document Store service on port 2424. This port is blocked by default by the Windows Firewall service. Disabling the Windows Firewall service or opening port range 2424-2430 will allow the communication to occur without interruption, allowing the service to stay started.



This issue has been resolved in Dell Data Protection | Enterprise Edition v8.5 and later.
