How to change the hypervisor IP address for VDI in a Box

  1. Put the grid in maintenance mode:
    1. From the Admin tab, click the Grid Maintenance link.
    2. Confirm the operation by clicking the OK.
    3. There will be a banner indicating Grid is in maintenance mode.
  2. Stop the kMGR services on each kMGR server in the grid:
  3. Log into the Kaviza VDI-in-a-box virtual machine console from the hypervisor.
    Username: kvm
    Password: kaviza123
  4. Stop the kMGR service by entering the following command:
    sh tomcat stop
  5. Once complete, the following message, or similar, will be displayed:
    tomcat stopped
  6. Repeat the above steps on each kMGR server in the grid. Note: Proceed only after stopping the kMGR services on all the Kaviza servers in the grid.
  7. Change to the /home/kvm/kvm/install/bin directory:
    cd /home/kvm/kvm/install/bin
  8. At the command prompt, execute this command:
    sh changeaddr.sh
  9. The following information will be requested:
    • OLD server address: This is the old hypervisor address
    • NEW server address: This is the new hypervisor address from CCHS
    • OLD kmgr address: This is the old kMGR address
    • NEW kmgr address: This is the new kMGR address from CCHS. If remaining the same, use the same IP address as the OLD kmgr address.
  10. After entering the addresses, press y to continue.
  11. There should be NO lines left to change (NONE).
    NOTE: If more than one server in the grid requires an IP address change, repeat steps c thru e until ALL the hypervisor addresses and kMGR addresses are changed. By specifying the same address for OLD and NEW, the OLD address will be retained in kMGR.
  12. sh tomcat start
  13. Password: kaviza123
  14. sh tomcat start
  15. Password: kaviza123
  16. Log into the kMGR console with the new IP address.
  17. Go to the Servers tab and verify the server status is ACTIVATED.
  18. Click on the server link and then the Configure button from within the server properties page.
  19. Enter the hypervisor password and click the SAVE button.
  20. A successful validated and saved message should be displayed.
  21. The server status should continue to show ACTIVATED
  22. Run the change address on ANY ONE of the kMGR server in the grid.
  23. Start the kMGR service on the server where the changeaddr.sh script was executed. The services on this server need to be started FIRST, before bringing up the services on any other server.
  24. Start the services on the remaining servers in the grid.
  25. Reconfigure the server from within the console. Log into the management console of each kMGR server and perform the following steps.
