How do I extract the file SULFNBK.EXE after it has been deleted? - KB Article - 148777




Extract SULFNBK.EXE from the Windows directory.

  1. Click the Start button, click Run, and then type msconfig in the Open box. Click OK.
    The System Configuration Utility window appears.
  2. Click Extract.
  3. Type Sulfnbk.exe and click Start.
  4. In the Restore From text box type x:\Windows\Options\Install where x: is the drive letter where Windows is installed..
  5. In the Save File In text box type x:\Windows\Command where x: is the drive letter where Windows is installed.
  6. Click OK.
    A window appears stating that the file was successfully extracted.
  7. Click Apply and then click Ok.
    The System Configuration Utility window will close.



Extract sulfnbk.exe using the System File Checker (SFC).

  1. Click the Start button, click Run, and then type SFC in the Open box.
  2. Click OK.
    The System File Checker window appears.
  3. Click to check Extract one file from installation disk.
  4. Type Sulfnbk.exe and click Start.
  5. In the Restore From text box type x:\Windows\Options\Cabs where x: is the letter of the drive where Windows was installed.

    NOTE: You may also insert the Microsoft Windows 98 CD in the CD drive and type x:\WIN98, where x is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.

  6. In the Save File In text box type x:\Windows\Command where x: is the letter of the drive where Windows was installed.
  7. Click OK
    A window appears stating that the file was successfully extracted.
  8. Click Close.
    The System File Checker window will close.
