Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Deployment Toolkit - User Guides

The following Dell user guides will guide customers for enabling Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM ConfigMgr) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) in Configuration Services.

Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager:

• Global Factory Imaging for SCCM 2007 - User Guide (released: October 2011)
  • Standalone Media Build:
    • Partition Disk
    • Inject Drivers
    • Create and Configure New Groups
    • Add Custom Command Line
    • Create and Build Media ISO
      • Adding the CFI=TRUE variable (critical)
    • Test Media ISO (offline)
• Global Factory Imaging for SCCM 2012 - User Guide (released: July 2012)
  • The 2012 document is almost identical to the 2010 version with the exception of the Creating the Standalone Media section.

Using the following guides will assist in modifying your current ConfigMgr task sequence XML to allow the Dell Factory (Configuration Services) imaging to take place. Using the custom conditions within your task sequence will allow Configuration Services to boot your SCCM ConfigMgr OSDeployment within the Dell Factory to automate the OS Installation, Driver Injection, and custom Software Installation and Configuration so your custom image is installed and configured when the platform arrives on-site.

 MDT user guides detail steps on how to finalize your Deployment task sequence (ts.xml) with the custom Dell conditions to allow the image to boot in the Dell Factory.
