'Printer Settings Could Not Be Saved. Operation Could Not Be Completed' Windows Error when sharing a Printer over a Network


When trying to share a printer the message "Printer settings could not be saved. Operation could not be completed" appears.

Perform the following steps to make sure the Server Service is running on the computer.

  1. On the computer go to the Control Panel
  2. Select Administrative Tools
  3. Double click on Services
  4. Locate the service called Server and verify that it is started

If it is not started then right click on it and select start

This should now allow you to share the print driver.


NOTE: It is recommended that only Dell Branded toner, drums, transfer rollers or other consumables are used in our laser printers.
