Dell EqualLogic Storage snapshot referred as Snapshot and Snapshot Reserve.

Dell EqualLogic Snapshots are space efficient online point-in-time copies of source volume data and do not consume any space, but are only a set of pointers to the data in the base volume. As data is modified on the base volume, disk space is allocated from the snapshot reserve to store the changes. The snapshot license comes with default. Like base volumes, a snapshot can be mounted to a host, read or modify data in the snapshot, or create a full volume (clone) that has dedicated space allocated from the free storage pool.
