The Netgear 341U USB Modem may experience issues connecting and activating on Dell mobile systems. Follow the guidelines in this article to identify and resolve the issue.
When connecting and activating a Netgear 341U USB modem to a Dell system with USB PowerShare, the modem enters a power loop where it turns on and off.
The 341U USB modem does not support USB ports using PowerShare. Turning off the feature in the BIOS offers no solution.
The USB port is working as designed, and the modem manufacturer is responsible for product for compatibility.
As a workaround, the modem will function properly when connected through a passive (unpowered) USB hub.
