Follow the outlined steps to replace the intrusion switch module in your system. From disconnecting cables to securing screws, this tutorial guides you through the process, ensuring a smooth and secure replacement.
Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
Power off the system and all attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet, and disconnect the peripherals.
If applicable, remove the system from the rack.
Remove the system cover.
Remove the air shroud:
Hold the air shroud at both ends and lift the air shroud out of the system.
Removing the intrusion switch module:
Remove the power cable from the power interposer board and the system board and then disconnect and remove the intrusion switch cable from the connector on the system board.
Observe the routing of the cable as you remove it from the system.
Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the screw securing the intrusion switch module.
Lift the intrusion switch module out of the system.
Installing the intrusion switch:
Align and insert the intrusion switch module into the slot on the system until firmly seated.
Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver, tighten the screw securing the intrusion switch module.
Connect the intrusion switch cable to the connector on the system board.
NOTE: Route the cable properly when you replace it to prevent the cable from being pinched or crimped.
Install the air shroud:
Align the slot on the air shroud with the standoff on the system.
Lower the air shroud into the system until it is firmly seated.
Replace the system cover.
If applicable, install the system into the rack.
Reconnect the peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet, and then power on the system.
