Navigate the removal and installation of the rear mounting front PERC module and R3 paddle card. Follow safety steps, disconnect cables, and ensure proper tightening for efficient handling.
Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
Power off the system and all attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and disconnect the peripherals.
If applicable, remove the system from the rack.
Remove the system cover.
Removing the rear mounting front PERC module:
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, loosen the captive screws on the rear mounting front PERC module.
Slide out the rear mounting front PERC module to disengage from the connector on the drive backplane.
NOTE:Observe the cable routing before disconnecting the cables.
Disconnect the paddle card slimline cable form the backplane.
Remove the paddle card slimline cable from cable access latch on cooling fan cage and also from the air shroud notch.
Removing the R3 paddle card:
Press the blue release tab on the paddle card and holding the edges lift the paddle card from the riser connector on the system board.
Installing the R3 paddle cards:
Holding the touch point edges, align the hole on the paddle card with the guides on the system board.
Lower the paddle card into place and press until the paddle card connector is fully seated with audible sound on the system board connector.
Insert the paddle card slimline cable into the cable access latch on cooling fan cage and also through the air shroud notch.
Installing the rear mounting front PERC module:
Align the connectors and guide slots on the rear mounting front PERC module with the connectors and guide pins on the drive backplane.
Slide in the rear mounting front PERC module, until the module is connected to the drive backplane.
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, tighten the captive screws on the rear mounting front PERC module.
Replace the system cover.
If applicable, install the system into the rack.
Reconnect the peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet, and then power on the system.
