This video explains how the Dell software diagnostic service works. You'll learn how to schedule a diagnostic call with a Dell-certified software specialist, what issues can be addressed, and how the technician helps resolve software-related problems. In some cases, a technician may reinstall the operating system and assist with backing up data. If the issue cannot be fixed, Dell will refund the service fees.
When you book the software diagnostic service, one of our software specialists will call you at your chosen scheduled time to help diagnose and resolve your software-related issues on your Dell device. These issues might include applications, operating systems, virus remediation, data migration, backup, and networking. Once you place your order for the service, you will select and schedule a time to perform the diagnosis over the phone. At the agreed-upon time, you will receive a call from a Dell-certified software specialist.
If the specialist cannot reach you, look out for an email to reschedule a call back at a time that is convenient for you. During the call, make sure your system is nearby and accessible. The software specialist will diagnose and complete the necessary actions to resolve the software issue. In some cases, the technician might need to reinstall a copy of your original operating system during the repair. The reinstallation could result in data loss, but if needed, the technician will help you back up your data.
If we are unable to resolve your issue or provide a solution, Dell will refund the fees you paid. We are pleased to offer this service to our customers with out-of-warranty systems and repair the systems with Dell-certified products.
