This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions for removing and installing the fan on your Dell Pro 14 PC14250 or PC14255.
Before you begin, turn off your computer and disconnect all attached peripherals.

In this video, we will demonstrate how to replace the Fan on your Dell Pro 14 PC14250 or PC14255. Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the computer. Turn off your computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals.
To enter Service Mode, press and hold the “B” key on the keyboard, then press the power button. The system will boot and display the Owner Tag screen. Press any key to proceed, the computer will beep three times and shut down.
To begin, loosen the nine captive screws that secure the base cover to the chassis. Next, use a plastic scribe to pry open the base cover. Start from the U-shaped indents near the hinges. Continue prying along the top and sides to release the base cover. And remove it. Remove the mylar sheet from the motherboard.
Now, let’s locate the fan on the palm-rest assembly. Disconnect the fan cable from the connector on the system board. Remove the two screws that secure the fan to the palm-rest assembly. Carefully lift the fan off the palm-rest assembly. Now, let’s install the fan. Place the fan in its slot on the palm-rest assembly.
Align the screw holes on the fan with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly. Replace the two screws to secure the fan to the palm-rest assembly. Connect the fan cable to the connector on the system board. Place the mylar sheet on the motherboard. Align the base cover with the palm-rest assembly and snap it into place.
Tighten the nine captive screws to secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly. Once the computer is fully assembled, connect the power adapter. Press the power button to turn on the computer.
