PowerEdge - No Video on Local VGA Port

This video explains how to solve an issue when the server may have no video on the VGA port. On the virtual console of the IDRAC, the video can be seen without problem.

Hi there. In this video, we'll cover how to resolve a no video issue on a power edge servers. VGA port, assuming the virtual console can be viewed correctly via the IDRAC.

First check the VGA physical connection is properly attached. Check the VGA cable is connected securely on either the front or rear VGA port test an own good working VGA cable if available. And finally, if possible test an own good working monitor. If the issue persists the lack of video display may be settings related to check this log in via the Iran.

This example is showing IDRAC9 when logged in navigate to configuration and select virtual console from the virtual console menu. Look for local server video and ensure that this is enabled and hit. Apply for Ira version seven and eight, select virtual console from the left side menu and locate local server video enabled. Ensure that this option is ticked and then select apply. Your monitor should now be displaying and that's it.
