Hello. In this video, we will briefly cover the Idrac lockdown mode. We will show you how to enable this feature and confirm that it will prevent a change from being made to begin. Right? Click on the host, go to omivv host actions and click on configure system lockdown mode. Choose the option to turn on system lockdown mode, then click, ok. It will take a few minutes for this to finish, press, ok to complete the process.
Now, let's take a look at the Idrac. You'll notice that we get a banner at the top that says you cannot perform configuration actions when the system is in lockdown mode. After logging in, we are again warned that you cannot perform configuration actions while the system is in lockdown mode. Now that we've enabled lockdown mode, let's go ahead and try and push some firmware to that host on this particular host.
We've already gone ahead and updated pretty much everything, but we do have the service module to install. Let's go ahead and see if that'll let us push as you can see the job did create. So let's go ahead and take a look at the job section on the jobs page. We can see that the job is there but it is in a failed state. It also shows that it was aborted. Now, let's go to the logs page and search for the host for more info. And here we see the error system lockdown mode is turned on for our Idrac. Hence, firmware update cannot continue.
