In this video, we will show you how to replace a power supply unit or PSU in an MD 2460 enclosure before removing the PSU read through and follow the safety guidelines to protect your system from potential damage and ensure your personal safety. If your system management software indicates a PSU failure or if the fault led starts blinking amber, the PSU is hot swappable, which means it can be replaced without powering off the enclosure. When a PSU is removed from the enclosure, it must be replaced within three minutes to prevent the enclosure from overheating. If the enclosure is installed with cable management arms release the upper C MA from its lock position from the left side of the rear of the enclosure, press the release button and swing open the upper C MA.
Now with the PSU accessible, remove the strap that secures the power cable and then disconnect the power cable from the PSU loosen the thumb screw that attaches the PSU to the chassis, pull down on the orange tab to rotate the handle downward and release the PSU from its seated position, gently pull the PSU out of the enclosure with one hand while supporting its weight.
With the other hand, ensure that the PSU remains level while removing it from the enclosure. On the replacement PSU rotate the handle downward to the open position, support the PSU with one hand while you guide it to the empty slot, with the other hand, ensure that it's level and slide it into the enclosure.
Push the orange tab to rotate the PSU handle upward and tighten the thumb screw to secure the PSU reconnect the power cable to the PSU and secure it with the strap. Verify that the Fort Le is no longer amber and the other two les are solid green in your system management software.
