The Software RAID feature on iDRAC Service Module (iSM) enables you to assign and unassign the global hot spares and dedicated hot spares on Dell PowerEdge 14th, and newer generation of servers running on Microsoft Windows operating systems.
In this video, you will learn how to assign and unassigned the global hot spare and dedicated hot spare on Microsoft Windows using Idrac service module. Before you begin, ensure to install IDX service module and enable the software raid feature on the host operating system.
Now open the command prompt to display the help options type the command D CS M CFG dot E face hyphen W raid and press enter the help options for the software R configuration is displayed to create a virtual disk type, the command D CS M CFG dot E space, hyphen W space, hyphen CTRL ID equal zero space, hyphen CVD space, hyphen RL equal and then enter the rate level space, hyphen PD equal and enter the physical dis ids separated by commas space. Hyphen A DH S equals and then enter the virtual disk id and then press enter the virtual disk is created successfully and the message is displayed to get the information of the virtual disk type.

And the message is displayed to check the information of the physical disks type.

And the message is displayed to view the information of the physical disk type.
