Here's how to troubleshoot a No Power issue on your PowerEdge server. Follow these steps if, when you press the power button, the system does not react at all. No power or status lights are on, no fans, beeps or other noises can be heard, and the iDRAC does not respond to a ping.
If this does not describe your issue, go to dell.com/support and refer to KB article 152161 for help with other startup issues like No POST, No Boot and No Video. For a No Power issue, disconnect both power supply cables then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to drain any residual power.
Connect power cables to the server, temorarily bypassing any UPS devices. Check for a lit LED on the on the PSU. On some models you may have to press a test button. If no LEDs light up, test again using power cables and wall sockets you know are working with another device. For more detailed PSU troubleshooting refer to KB article 127944.
