The Support Live image is a sentOS-based image that has a collection of utilities and diagnostic tools. Version 2 is for 9th through 11th generation servers, and version 3 is for 12th through 14th, which is the most recent as of the creation of this video.
Some of the most common uses for the Support Live image include performing firmware BIOS updates in a certified environment or if the hypervisor doesn't have a method to do updates inside the OS, making changes to the RAID configuration with OpenManage, checking hardware logs, and accessing data drives if the OS drive is offline.
To download the Support Live image, go to Dell.com/Support and enter your service tag or model. Click the Drivers and Downloads tab. From the category dropdown select Diagnostics. And click Download next to the Support Live image. Once it is downloaded, the image can be mounted to the iDRAC or installed to a USB device using Rufus.
The link to the video for using Rufus is in the description. Once it is mounted, you can boot to the image and it will bring you to a desktop environment. Thanks for watching.
