Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system.
Power off the system and all attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and disconnect the peripherals.
If applicable, remove the system from the rack.
Remove the system cover.
Remove the air shroud.
Removing the intrusion switch module:
Disconnect and remove the intrusion switch cable connector from connector on the system board.
NOTE: Observe the routing of the cable as you remove it from the system.
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, remove the screw that secures the intrusion switch on the intrusion switch slot.
Lift to remove the intrusion switch out of the intrusion switch slot.
Installing the intrusion switch module:
Align and insert the intrusion switch in the slot until it is firmly seated in the slot on the system.
NOTE: Route the cable properly when you replace it to prevent the cable from being pinched or crimped.
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, tighten the screw that secures the intrusion switch on the intrusion switch slot.
Connect the intrusion switch cable to the connector on the system board.
Install the air shroud.
Follow the procedure listed in After working inside your system:
Replace the system cover.
If applicable, install the system into the rack.
Reconnect the peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet, and then power on the system.
