In this video, you will learn how to invoke remote iDRAC hard reset using iDRAC Service Module version 3.6.
To begin the process, at the command line interface type the command: e-s-x-c-l-i space software space v-i-b space list space bar g-r-e-p space d-c-i-s-m Click [enter] and notice the installation status of iDRAC Service Module. At the command line interface type the command: forward slash e-t-c forward slash i-n-i-t dot d forward slash dc-i-s-m dash n-e-t-m-o-n dash watchdog space status Press [Enter] Verify that i-S-M is active and running.
Login to the iDRAC home page using your credentials. To view the iSM version and verify that the i-S-M is running, go to iDRAC Settings, click Settings from the drop-down list and then, expand the iDRAC Service Module Setup.
To invoke remote iDRAC Hard Reset, at the command line interface type the command: forward slash o-p-t forward slash dell forward slash s-r-v-a-d-m-i-n forward slash i-S-M forward slash bin forward slash Invoke dash iDRAC Hard Reset And press [Enter] Type Y and click enter to start the iDRAC reset.
Login to the iDRAC home page after the iDRAC Hard reset task is completed. Click Maintenance and click Lifecycle Log from the drop-down list.
Notice that the iDRAC Hard Reset operation is performed by system OS user root message from the operating system reported in the log.
This feature is also supported on Linux and Windows operating system and the commands can be directly executed from Command Line Interface.
