Prerequisites
Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions.
Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system:
Power off the system and all attached peripherals.
Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and disconnect the peripherals.
If applicable, remove the system from the rack.
Remove the system cover.
Remove the system cover.
Remove the air shroud.
Remove the cooling fan cage assembly.
Observe and disconnect the cables from the connectors on the power distribution board.
Remove the PSU cage.
Remove the BOSS cage.
Removing the OCP card:
Press the blue tabs on either sides of the OCP shroud, and lift the OCP shroud out of the system.
Open the blue latch to disengage the OCP card.
Push the OCP card toward the rear end of the system to disconnect from the connector on the system board.
Slide the OCP card out of the slot on the system.
If the OCP card is not going to be replaced, install a filler bracket .
Installing the OCP card:
If installed, remove the filler bracket.
NOTE: Store the filler bracket for future use. Filler brackets must be installed in empty expansion card slots to maintain Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification of the system. The brackets also keep dust and dirt out of the system and aid in proper cooling and airflow inside the system.
NOTE: OCP Filler bracket is removed before removing the BOSS cage.
Open the blue latch on the system board.
Slide the OCP card into the slot in the system.
Push until the OCP card is connected to the connector on the system board.
Close the blue latch to lock the OCP card to the system.
Align the OCP air shroud to the air duct hook from back to front of the chassis and lower the OCP air shroud.
Replace the BOSS cage.
Replace the PSU cage.
Observe and connect the cables to the connectors on the power distribution board.
Replace the system cover.
Follow the procedure listed in After working inside your system:
Replace the system cover.
If applicable, install the system into the rack.
Reconnect the peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet, and then power on the system.
