In this video you will learn how S.M.A.R.T attributes are monitored in software RAID mode on Windows operating system.
To begin the process, log in to the iDRAC home page using your credentials. Go to iDRAC Settings, click Settings from the drop-down list, and expand iDRAC Service Module Setup.
Make sure that iDRAC Service Module status is Running. Now, go to Maintenance and click Lifecycle Log from the drop-down list. Notice the event iDRAC Service Module successfully connected with iDRAC by using IPv4 protocol reported in the log.
Once the connection between iDRAC and iDRAC Service Module is established, the PDR16 and PDR22 events will be monitored. Refresh the Lifecycle Log page.
With the connection established, you can notice the events reported in the log. P-D-R22 SMART temperature warning for disk on Software RAID Controller.
P-D-R16 Predictive failure reported for disk on Software RAID Controller. iDRAC service module will monitor P-D-R16 and P-D-R22 events for a period of 24 hours. For more information on iDRAC Service Module, see www.dell.com/idracmanuals.
