Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer:
Ensure that your work surface is flat and clean to prevent the computer cover from being scratched.
Turn off your computer (see Turning Off Your Computer).
If the computer is connected to a docking device (docked) such as the optional Media Base or Battery Slice, undock it.
Disconnect all network cables from the computer.
Disconnect your computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
Close the display and turn the computer upside-down on a flat work surface.
Remove the main battery.
Turn the computer top-side up.
Open the display.
Press the power button to ground the system board.
Remove any installed ExpressCards or Smart Cards from the appropriate slots.
Prerequisites
1. Remove the base cover.
2. Remove the computer base.
3. Remove the back cover.
4. Remove the camera.
5. Remove the microphones.
6. Remove the stand assembly.
7. Remove the power button module.
Removing the Display Panel:
1. Remove the screws that secure the display-panel bracket to the display bazel.
2. Lift the display-panel bracket off the display-panel assembly.
3. Remove the screws that secure the display panel to the display bezel.
4. Lift the latches and disconnect the flex cables from the display panel.
5. Lift the display-panel assembly off the display bezel and place it on a clean surface.
6. Remove the screws that secure the display-panel side-brackets to the display panel.
7. Remove the display-panel side-brackets from the display panel.
8. Place the display panel on a clean, flat surface.
