In this video, we will demonstrate how to replace the M.2 2280 solid-state drive or S, S, D. Before removing the M.2 2280 solid-state drive, read through the safety guidelines to protect your computer from potential damage and ensure your personal safety.

Ensure that you create a recovery drive and back up all data before removing the M.2 2280 solid-state drive. To remove the base cover, remove the six screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Then, loosen the three captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Starting from the top-right corner, use a plastic scribe to pry off the base cover to release the base cover from the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board. Turn your computer over and open the display. Press the power button for 15 seconds to drain the flea power.
Now let’s remove the M.2 2280 solid-state drive. First, remove the two screws that secure the solid-state drive thermal bracket to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Then, lift the SSD thermal bracket off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Slide and remove the SSD from the solid-state drive slot. You have successfully removed the M.2 2280 solid-state drive.
Now, let’s see how to install it. Align the notch on the SSD with the tab on the SSD slot. Then, slide the SSD firmly into the SSD slot at an angle.
Align the screw hole on the SSD thermal bracket with the screw hole on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. Replace the two screws that secure the SSD thermal bracket to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Connect the battery cable to the system board. To install the base cover, align the screw holes on the base cover with the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly, and then snap the base cover into place. Replace the six screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
Tighten the three captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly. The M.2 2280 solid-state drive installation process is now complete.
