In this video, we show how to replace a PERC Module in a PowerEdge R4715. Before working inside your system, read through and follow safety guidelines to protect your system from potential damage and ensure your personal safety.
For more information about safety guidelines, see the Service Manual at: Dell.com/Support. Before you begin, remove the system cover and drive backplane cover. To remove a PERC module, first, disconnect and unwrap any cables moving across the PERC module. For these we have to unscrew the captive screw here.
Lift up on the latch and then unroute those cables. Then we also have this one right here. Move that out of the way. Next disconnect any cables going to the PERC Module. The power. Followed by these last two cables. Move those out of the way. With everything disconnected, lift up on the plunger and slide the PERC Module to the right and lift it up and out of the system.
To install a PERC Module, align and lower into the system and slide it to the left. Then reconnect the data cables. Reconnect this one. By connecting that back to the backplane. With those reconnected, then reconnect any cables you disconnected that were running across the PERC Module.
Run those through the channel and close the channel. Screw the captive screw down. And reconnect those to the backplane. For more information or support about the PowerEdge R4715, visit: Dell.com/Support.
