Before proceeding ensure your computer is in service mode to enter service mode. Press and hold the key on the keyboard and then press the power button. Now the computer will boot up and the owner tag information is displayed on the screen. Press any key to proceed. The computer will emit three short beeps and shut down, indicating it has entered the service mode.
To remove the solid state drive 2280. Loosen the eight screws on the base cover. Using a plastic scribe, pry open from the base near the hinges. Lift the base cover off. Identify the solid state drive. Remove the three screws that secures the SSD shielding cover. Remove the SSD shielding cover off the SSD. Slide and remove the SSD from the slot.
To reinstall the solid state drive 2280. Replace SSD on the slot. Place the SSD shielding cover on the SSD. Replace the three screws to secure the SSD shielding cover. Place the base cover back on the system and tighten the screws.
