Before replacing the faulty power supply, remove the power cord from the power supply. Please note that the power supply modules are hot pluggable units and can be exchanged without shutting down the server. Put the metal lever in a middle position. And press the release button down constantly while moving the faulty power supply out.
Insert the new power supply a bit into the module. And verify that the violet button on the right side is on the top position on the power supply. Before fully inserting the power supply, you will hear a click noise. After the module is connected. If you need to replace the power supply on the left side, please take care that the violet button is in the bottom position of the module.
The spare module is the same. There is no difference between a left and right power supply. Only the position of insertion changes. Reinsert the power cord.
