How to replace the DisplayPort module on Dell Pro Micro Plus QBM1250/Dell Pro Micro QCM1250/QCM1255

This tutorial provides step-by-step instructions on how to remove and install the DisplayPort module on your Dell Pro Micro Plus QBM1250/Dell Pro Micro QCM1250/QCM1255. By following the steps in this video, you can also remove and install the following optional modules on your computer: i. Dual USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports module ii. USB Type-C port module iii. Thunderbolt port and USB Type-C module (only for Dell Pro Micro Plus QBM1250) iv. HDMI port module v. VGA port module vi. RJ45 ethernet port module (only for Dell Pro Micro Plus QBM1250) Before you begin, power off the computer, and disconnect all the attached peripherals. Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the system.

In this video, we show how to replace the DisplayPort module on the Dell Pro Micro Plus QBM1250, the Dell Pro Micro QCM1250, or the Dell Pro Micro QCM1255. To begin, place the computer on its side with the side cover facing up. Now, loosen the rear thumb screw that secures the side cover and slide it off the chassis. Locate the DisplayPort module inside the chassis. Loosen the two captive screws that secure the module in its place. Then, gently disconnect the module from its connector.

To remove it, lift the module from the rear, tilt it downward and slide it out of the chassis. If you are installing a DisplayPort module for the first time, you will need to remove the port cover. Push against the port cover as shown until it comes off.


Now, to install the DisplayPort module, slide it into the slot on the back panel. Connect the module to its connector. Then, tighten the two screws to secure it.

Now, to install the side cover, align the tabs on the side cover with the slots on the chassis. Slide the cover back into place and tighten the thumb screw. For more information or support, visit: Dell.com/Support.
