To begin, loosen the nine captive screws that secure the base cover to the chassis. Next, use a plastic scribe to pry open the base cover. Start from the U-shaped indents near the hinges. Continue prying along the top and sides to release the base cover and remove it. Now, let’s locate the battery on the palm-rest assembly. Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the system board. Loosen the four captive screws. and remove the one screw that secure the battery to the palmrest assembly. Carefully lift the battery, along with the battery cable, off the palm-rest assembly.
To remove the battery cable, remove it from the routing guides. Disconnect it from the connector on the battery and remove the cable from the battery. Now, let’s install the battery and battery cable. Connect the battery cable to the connector on the battery and route it through the routing guides. Align the battery with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly.
Tighten the four captive screws. And replace screw that secure the battery to the palm-rest assembly. Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board. Align the base cover with the palm-rest assembly and snap it into place. Tighten the nine captive screws to secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly.
