To ensure proper functioning of the system and dock, it is important to verify if the AC Adapter needs to be connected to both. Install the necessary drivers for the Thunderbolt-16 Dock and update the BIOS, INTEL Thunderbolt Controller, INTEL Thunderbolt 3 Firmware, INTEL HD Graphics Driver, ASMedia USB 3.0 Extended Host Controller, ASMedia USB 3.0 Extended Host Firmware Utility, Realtek USB GBE Ethernet Controller, and Realtek USB Audio Driver. Restart the system after each update. Finally, connect the AC Adapter to the Dell Thunderbolt Dock and the dock to your system.
Please note, some systems may require the AC Adapter to be connected to both the system and the dock. Verify with our technical expert if your system requires you to do so. Before we begin, ensure that you have previously installed the drivers for the Thunderbolt-16 Dock.
If at this point you have not, inform our expert for additional instructions. Visit www.dell.com/support. Click on “Detect PC,” select “Drivers and Downloads” and search for “System BIOS.” Download and run the executable file.
Click “OK” to confirm the update and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process. After you have successfully updated the BIOS, restart the system. Repeat the previous process for the following drivers.
