In this video, we will demonstrate how to create a virtual machine in VMware Workstation Pro. Before you begin, Ensure that you have installed VMware Workstation 15.5.1 Pro on your PC.
To begin, open VMWare Workstation Pro on your PC. Click Create a New Virtual Machine. Select Typical and click Next. To install the operating system, select Installer disc image file and browse to the ISO image to continue.
Then, click Next. Note that when you select the ISO image the operating system is automatically detected. If the operating system is not detected automatically, select the correct operating system type manually.
Next, enter a name for the virtual machine. By default, the virtual machine is created in the Documents folder. It is recommended that you save the virtual machine in an easily accessible folder. Then, click Next.
On the Specify Disk Capacity page, for images of smaller size, you can modify the Maximum disk size value to 80 GB. Or for larger images, set up to a higher value.
Select Store virtual disk as a single file and click Next. Next, click Customize Hardware. In the Memory section, if you have an 8 GB memory PC, set the virtual machine’s memory value to 3072 MB to avoid a virtual machine freeze.
If you have a 10 GB or higher memory PC, you can enter a higher memory value, as long as the new value does not cause a virtual machine freeze.
In the Processors section, set the Number of processors and Number of cores per processor to 2. In the Network Adapter section, clear the Connect at power on option.
In the USB Controller section, select the Show all USB input devices option, and clear the Share Bluetooth devices with the virtual machine option.
In the Sound Card section, clear the Connect at power on option. In the Display section, clear the Accelerate 3D graphics option. Finally, click Close and then click Finish.
The virtual machine is now created. To verify the settings, select the virtual machine from the left pane, and click Edit virtual machine settings from the right pane.
Click the Options tab. In the Advanced section, ensure that the firmware type is UEFI and the Enable secure boot option is cleared. Click OK. This completes the process of creating a virtual machine on VMware Workstation 15.5.1 Pro.
