In this video, we show how to replace the I/O daughterboards in an XPS 14 DA14260. Before you begin, remove the Palmrest and Keyboard Assembly, Fans, Heatsink and the two USB-C modules. Remove the two screws securing the PC beams cable.
Then peel the cable off and remove it. Now remove the two interposer boards. Handle the PC beam interposer with care by the edges and avoid touching the pins on the connectors. Remove the screws, securing the I/O Board to the base cover. Now lift the I/O Board away. Follow the same step for the left I/O Board. Handle the PC beam interposer with care by the edges and avoid touching the pins on the connectors. To install the right I/O Board, place the I/O Board align the screw holes of the board with the base cover.
Replace the screw to secure the I/O Board and replace the interposer boards. Handle the PC beam interposer with care by the edges and avoid touching the pins on the connectors. Replace the PC beam beam cable, and adhere it to the base cover. Replace the screw to secure it. Follow the same step for the left I/O Board.
